Luxury Fitness brand Equinox Unveils The First Equinox Hotel at 35 Hudson Yards and “THF” has the Scoop On What it is All About

The luxury fitness giant Equinox has unveiled plans for its first hotel, and it is coming to New York City in June. The property is going to be located in Hudson Yards, New York City’s newest upbeat area which I call a city within the city. Equinox is not a new company, for over twenty-five years Equinox has been pushing the limits of fitness across the United States, Canada, and London and now they are going to be pushing the limits in the hospitality industry as well.

About Equinox Hotels

Equinox Hotels has the same philosophy as its fitness clubs. Luxury is the ultimate experience and travel is a seamless extension of a well-lived life. Everything in the hotel was created to empower guests with tools that will make it easier to enjoy yourself between work, rest, and discipline, it is all part of a 360-degree lifestyle travel experience. Guestrooms were envisioned from every angle for sleep and comfort and the fitness areas are fueled by the worlds top talent while the restaurants fill every need and taste. Equinox was created as a place where “compromise” does not exist. The hotel will be built to inspire people who are into fitness. The brand is for people to show their maximum strength, the brand is for people who want to rest and play as hard as they train and work.

Equinox Hotels is a new brand and the company has no properties open yet. New York City will be Equinox’s first location but future Equinox Hotels are now confirmed for cities including Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Seattle, Chicago, and Houston. If your city is not on the list, don’t worry more properties are on its way.

“The philosophy, ‘It’s not fitness, it’s life” has grounded Equinox—and fueled a cultural movement—for more than 25 years, and now we’re introducing Equinox Hotels as a true culmination of our brand promise,” said Harvey Spevak, Executive Chairman, Managing Partner, Equinox. “Steeped with deep knowledge of how to cater 24/7 to the high-performance needs of the most discerning community, we are a company that has always seen the world differently and defined trends rather than following them. Everything we’ve done to this point has given us true license to enter hospitality and chart its future with a completely fresh, uniquely ‘Equinox’ experience and point of view.”

The property will offer a Spa. The Spa emphasizes recovery and was created to serve as one of the main parts of Equinox’s “High-Performance living”. The spa will collaborate with body and skin care experts and it will all be backed by Equinox’s proprietary Health Advisory Board. The Spa will feature recovery based treatments and regeneration and relaxation techniques.

The property will feature a restaurant and bar by Stephen Starr. The restaurant will have an 8,000 square foot outdoor terrace with stunning views of the Hudson River and Manhattan. Guests will experience food and drink creations that excites and restores the body. Guests can also experience the same in the in-room dining option as well.

Recently Equinox opened their booking platform for the brand and to celebrate Equinox is giving guests who book via the hotel website a choice of one of the following complimentary items: a 1-hour Personal Training session, SoulCycle class, or spa treatment. Rates in mid-July are starting at $745 per night for a king bed guestroom.

I am so excited to see what the finished product will to look like. This is a first for the company and a first for the Hospitality Industry. You already have hotels that are fitness oriented and push their guests to live better and feel better, but Equinox is redesigning the way you stay in a hotel.
