Hilton’s New Brand That Revolves Around Meetings and Events- “Signia Hilton”

Just days after Hilton Hotels 100th Birthday and being the listed as the best company to work for by Fortune Magazine, the company launched a new brand called Signia Hilton, which is focused towards meetings and events. The group of properties is setting out to change the industry for meeting professionals and sophisticated business travelers by incorporating new technologies into the design of the hotels. The brand will incorporate new technology throughout the hotel, while I don’t have specifics yet I do know that meeting rooms could have features similar to Hilton’s Connected Room, including more automated control over the lights or temperature of a space.

All locations will offer premium Wellness experiences from infinity pools to state of the art spas and fitness centers. Each hotel will also have a “Destination Bar” and a signature restaurant. The “Destination Bar” will be the heart of the hotel with its exciting energy that will flow throughout the hotel. The Signature restaurant will be based on a chef-driven concept, designed to offer both locals and guests unique presentations and experiences that they will want to share with friends or business partners. The guestrooms at all Signia Hiltons will offer premium design and modern finishes that takes from the hotels premium locations.

Each property will have a minimum of 500 guest rooms and 75 square feet per guest room of meetings and event space. All properties will offer different types of spaces from large ballrooms to mid-size and small meeting spaces. The first Signia Hiltons will be located in Orlando, Atlanta, and Indianapolis. The Orlando Property is currently a Hilton hotel and will be re-branded and renovated into a Signia Hilton. The Orlando location will be the first to open and carry the Signia flag. The Atlanta Property will be a new build that sits across from the Mercedes-Benz stadium and Georgia World Conference Center. The property will have 900 – 950 rooms. The Indianapolis property will offer 850 rooms and it will not only be adjacent to the convention center but will have direct access via a covered walkway. Signia will be a global brand, it will offer hotels internationally in no time. All Future Signia properties will be new builds except the Orlando location.

Signia Hilton sits right above the Hilton brand and below the luxury Conrad brand. Signia will have a larger room and bathroom than a Hilton but not as large as a Conrad and Waldorf Astoria property.

“In our 100th year of hospitality, we are more focused than ever on providing exceptional experiences to all of our guests – and that includes evolving those experiences to meet their changing needs,” said Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO, Hilton. “We are proud to launch Signia Hilton, which exemplifies our innovative spirit and will raise the bar on what it means to deliver truly customer-inspired hospitality.”

This will be Hilton’s 17th brand, asking the question, does the chain really need another brand?
